St John’s Family Centre opened its doors to the public in July 2012. It is ideally located in St John’s Ward which has been recognised by the Welsh Government as an area of deprivation.
Our centre aims to bring many organisations and sectors together under one roof e.g. The Wellbeing Project Brecon, Mirus Wales, Brecon Foodbank, Bereavement Counselling services; mental health services, Shelter Cymru and NPTC. This sharing in expertise improves the co-ordination, quantity and quality of services, which will ensure better outcomes for the all members of the community.
What we do
We provide a warm and inviting environment for the community and our partner agencies.
The building provides disabled access to all rooms on ground and upper floor level. We also hire out rooms to the community and external organisations.
Our Kitchen and Dining Area can be hired out for informal meetings and cookery courses. Our main hall can be hired out for parties, large meetings and community events. It also has a wet play area, children’s toilets and access to an enclosed garden. We also have a Training room and a Meeting Room. Both provide Wi-Fi access and flip chart and can seat up to 12 people.
