Diane Briere de l’Isle Engelhardt OBE Announced as New Patron of CWTCH MAWR

Faith in Families Charity is delighted to announce that founder and chairperson of The Moondance Foundation, Diane Briere de l’Isle Engelhardt OBE, will become a patron of the Cwtch Mawr multibank managed by the Faith in Families charity. Diane’s appointment reflects her ongoing commitment to supporting vulnerable people and improving the well-being of communities throughout Wales.

Diane Briere de l’Isle Engelhardt is well-known for her compassionate approach and dedication to philanthropy. As the founder of the Moondance Foundation, she has championed numerous causes, focusing on relieving suffering and empowering those in need. Her efforts have been particularly impactful in the areas of health and well-being, as well as youth safety.

In 2013, Diane founded ResolveIt, a social enterprise dedicated to keeping young people safe. ResolveIt educated thousands of young people annually, teaching them how to defuse difficult situations peacefully and defend themselves if necessary.

Diane’s passion for improving lives in Wales led to the establishment of the Moondance Cancer Initiative (MCI) in 2019, which aims to make a significant impact on cancer outcomes in the region. Additionally, she is a staunch advocate for Cwtch Mawr, Wales’ first ever multibank, providing essential goods to those in need, a key initiative managed by Faith in Families Swansea.

Diane holds a law degree from Paris V University and has been a member of the Paris and New York Bars. Her dedication to philanthropy was recognised in 2015 when she was awarded an OBE. In addition to her own accomplishments, she is married to Henry Engelhardt CBE, founder and CEO emeritus of Admiral Group plc.

Commenting on her new role as Patron of Cwtch Mawr, Diane Briere de l’Isle Engelhardt OBE said: "I am deeply honoured to support Cwtch Mawr as their new patron. The work Faith in Families, and through Cwtch Mawr, do to uplift and empower children and families in some of the most deprived areas of Swansea is truly inspiring.
