At Faith in Families, our mission is to provide vital support to children, young people, and families in need across Swansea. Thanks to the incredible efforts of Veeqo Swansea, we’re taking another major step forward in making that mission a reality.
This year, Veeqo’s staff raised an astounding £35,000, funding a Recovery and Emotional Wellbeing Practitioner for our Brighter Futures Project. This generous contribution will directly impact children struggling with anxiety, self-esteem, family challenges, and much more.
About the Brighter Futures Project
Launched in May 2019 after years of research and consultation, the Brighter Futures Project is rooted in the belief that behind every behavior is an untold story. Our trauma-informed approach recognizes that strong emotions—anger, anxiety, sadness—are often responses to difficult life circumstances.
Our team of dedicated practitioners works with children who’ve experienced multiple Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), offering 1-2-1 interventions to help them:
- Understand and manage strong emotions.
- Process traumatic events.
- Build self-esteem and positive relationships.
- Develop emotional regulation tools to face life’s challenges.
These interventions help children not just survive their experiences but thrive, gaining the tools and confidence to take on life without ongoing support. Currently working with over 30 schools across Swansea, the project is transforming the lives of children, young people, and families in our communities.
Veeqo Swansea’s Fundraising Journey
A homegrown Welsh tech company, Veeqo has always been a champion of innovation and community. Founded in Swansea and now part of Amazon, Veeqo’s inventory and shipping management software helps small and medium-sized businesses around the world streamline their operations.
Despite their global success, Veeqo hasn’t lost touch with their roots. Their commitment to giving back to the local community shines through in their incredible fundraising efforts for Faith in Families this year.
From bake sales to participating in the Swansea Half Marathon, Veeqo’s team has gone above and beyond to support our work. This incredible team effort has raised vital funds to provide specialist support to children who need it most.
Veeqo: A Growing Force in Welsh Tech
Since being acquired by Amazon in 2021, Veeqo has gone from strength to strength. The company has:
- Doubled its workforce from 70 to 140 employees, creating highly-skilled tech jobs in Swansea and beyond.
- Opened Amazon’s first development centre in Wales, fostering innovation and collaboration.
- Partnered with local universities like Swansea University to provide placement opportunities for budding tech professionals.
