Tom Beynon, Director of the beloved Three Cliffs Bay Holiday Park in Gower, has embarked on an extraordinary mission to walk 4 million steps in 2025 in support of the local charity, Faith In Families Swansea. The initiative, which aims to raise both awareness and funds for the organisation, has already gained significant momentum thanks to Tom’s dedication and support from local sponsors and the community.
Faith In Families Swansea is a vital charity that provides support to families in need across the area. Tom, who has been sharing his journey under the hashtag #4MillionSteps and rallying supporters with the slogan #HugsNotHandouts, is walking in various scenic locations across Gower to showcase the area’s beauty and inspire others to get involved.
Milestones and Sponsors
Tom’s challenge kicked off with a sponsorship of £150 from Sian Eley of Spectrum Glass Solutions Ltd, followed by support from Gower Inn for his first 100,000 steps. Max Howell of The Bay Print Co-sponsored the 100,000 to 200,000-step milestone, also donating a sustainable jumper to help spread awareness. Castell Howell contributed an impressive £500 for the 200,000 to 300,000-step range, with Air Assault UK donating £150 to sponsor the 300,000 to 400,000 steps. Beth Thomas of Cariad Mortgage Solutions sponsored up to 500,000 steps.
The fundraising total has already exceeded £1,350, with individual donations further boosting the cause. Tom has also partnered with the charity’s CEO, Cherrie Bija, who is participating in the challenge alongside him.
Daily Progress and Highlights | 4 Million Step Challenge
In just the first two weeks, Tom has covered over 400,000 steps, averaging nearly 21,000 steps per day. His journey includes early morning runs, coastal walks, and late-night strolls with his dog, Boris. Tom’s largest single-day effort so far topped 30,000 steps, showcasing his commitment to the challenge.
