Six Men, Two Extreme Environments, One Unbreakable Mission
This February 2025, six men are coming together to take on an extraordinary challenge in the name of charity. High & Dry will see the team tackle two of the most extreme environments on Earth—scaling the frozen heights of Mount Toubkal in North Africa and trekking 100 kilometres across the scorching Sahara Desert.
Their mission? To raise vital funds and awareness for Faith in Families, a charity dedicated to transforming the lives of children and families facing poverty, crisis, and trauma.
The Challenge: From Freezing Peaks to Blistering Heat
The adventure begins with a trek through the rugged, snow-covered terrain of the Atlas Mountains, culminating in a winter ascent of Mount Toubkal—North Africa’s highest peak, towering at 4,167m above sea level. The team will set off before dawn Six Men, Two Extreme Environments, One Unbreakable Mission, pushing themselves through high-altitude conditions to reach the summit just in time for a breathtaking sunrise.
But there’s no time to rest. After descending from the icy heights, the team will swap snow boots for desert trekking gear as they head straight into the Sahara Desert. Over the next three days, they will cover 100km across shifting sands, rocky plateaus, and rolling dunes. With temperatures soaring by day and plummeting by night, this leg of the challenge will push their resilience to the absolute limit. Wild camping under the vast desert sky, they will be stripped back to the basics—just their endurance, their determination, and each other.

The High & Dry team isn’t just doing this for the thrill of adventure. They’re doing it to make a real difference.
Faith in Families has been a beacon of hope for vulnerable children and families in Swansea for over 25 years. The charity provides vital services, including family support, foster care, adoption services, and emergency assistance, ensuring that children in crisis receive the care and stability they deserve.
Too many families face the devastating effects of poverty, domestic abuse, and homelessness. By taking on this extreme challenge, the team is helping to raise much-needed funds so that Faith in Families can continue its life-changing work, providing essential resources and support to those who need it most.
