🚛 From Big to Bigger: Faith in Families Expand Cwtch Mawr to Meet Soaring Need

In the heart of Llansamlet, a powerful story of kindness and resilience is unfolding—and it just got three times bigger.

Faith in Families’ Cwtch Mawr Multibank has moved! What started in a 5,000 sq ft warehouse has now expanded into an incredible new 15,000 sq ft space—still proudly based in Llansamlet, but now supercharged to meet the rising demand for essential support across Swansea Bay and beyond.

This expansion marks a monumental step in our journey—and it wouldn’t have been possible without the phenomenal support of Amazon’s Local Good team.

Why the Move? A Crisis is Growing—And So Are We

The cost-of-living crisis has placed unimaginable pressure on families and individuals across Wales. Demand for everyday essentials—things many take for granted—is rising daily.

Cwtch Mawr, which first opened its doors in March 2024, was built to meet that need. Now, due to a surge in demand and the growing need from our charity partners, we’ve outgrown our original space. Our new, larger warehouse means we can now:

• Store and distribute more donations, including a greater volume of Amazon’s surplus stock.
• Support more than 115 charity partners, including women’s refuges, food banks, and homeless shelters.
• Deliver over 615,276 essential items—from baby kits and school uniforms to hygiene products and household basics.

With support from Welsh Government, The Pobl Trust, Moondance Foundation and many others, we’re building a future where no one is left behind.

This move unlocks:

• Greater volumes of surplus donations from Amazon and other businesses
• Increased volunteer and job training opportunities
• Wider distribution reach across South Wales

We are also in conversation with additional local authorities to replicate this model and meet the growing need across even more Welsh communities.
