Jonathan Morgan Does It Again! Another Epic Challenge, Another Month of Impact for Swansea Families

Some people take on a challenge once. Jonathan Morgan seems to have made it an annual tradition … and then some. This November, he completed 30 days of 5km runs, clocking up 150km and raising nearly £1,000 for children and families supported by Faith in Families.

It’s officially another challenge in a long line of brutal, brilliant and completely selfless efforts, and Jonathan shows no sign of slowing down.

“It’s just you and the distance, no hiding.”

Jonathan describes the November challenge as simple but savage.

“I needed something to focus on for myself each day. The challenge is savage because it’s just you and the distance no hiding, no shortcuts. But it becomes addictive. I’m already looking forward to doing it again next year, with a few extra challenges thrown in of course.”

And when you look at his track record, “extra challenges” usually means something outrageous.

The King of Challenges: From Treadmills to the Sahara

Jonathan’s list of Faith in Families fundraisers is genuinely astonishing.
He’s not a “once-a-year” participant, he’s the guy who goes all in, every time:

✔ 24-hour nonstop workout marathon
A full day of lung-busting, muscle-burning circuits to raise funds for Christmas gifts for local children.

A two-environment endurance test like no other:
  • Climbing Mount Toubkal (4,167m) in snow and altitude
  • Trekking 100km across the Sahara Desert in blistering heat
  • Completing both back-to-back
✔ Now — 150km in November for Swansea families
Dark mornings, cold evenings, and not a single day missed.
Every time, he chooses Faith in Families. Every time, he gives more.
Jonathan doesn’t just take part, he leads, he pushes, he inspires, and he refuses to let children in our city go without.

And a huge shout-out to Ben Garvey, the other half of this unstoppable duo

This challenge wasn’t a solo mission. Ben Garvey ran every single one of those 5km days alongside Jonathan, sharing the dark mornings, the cold late-night runs, and the relentless “no skipping a day” rule. Ben brings the same fire, the same commitment, and the same belief in helping Swansea families and he’s proved it time and time again.

Ben was also part of the High & Dry Challenge team, taking on the brutal winter ascent of Mount Toubkal before trekking 100km across the Sahara Desert. He battled the altitude, the freezing winds, the blistering heat and the dunes right alongside Jonathan. Together they’ve faced ice, fire and everything in between, all to support children and families living in crisis.

Ben is one of those people who doesn’t look for spotlight or praise, but his impact is huge. He shows up, he pushes through, and he turns every challenge into something that genuinely changes lives. Having him by Jonathan’s side in November made this achievement even more powerful, a duo that’s fast becoming unstoppable when it comes to doing good in Swansea.

A New Name, Same Heart: Mre. AKA Morgan Real Estate

The family business is now Mre. AKA Morgan Real Estate, marking an exciting new chapter while keeping everything that matters:
  • A family-run firm with decades of roots across Neath and South Wales
  • A culture where community support is part of the DNA
  • A team that backs Jonathan’s challenges and gets involved themselves
In Jonathan’s words:

“Community work and giving back is a genuine part of our culture, not a slogan. Whatever Faith in Families needs we’ll get it done.”

From Faith in Families CEO, Cherrie Bija

“Jonathan isn’t just a supporter, he’s a force. His commitment, year after year, inspires our whole community. He brings the same energy to his fundraising as he does to Mre. people first, always. We’re incredibly grateful for every challenge he takes on for Swansea’s children.”

“What else can we do?”

After listing off his challenges (which most people would need a decade to recover from), Jonathan finished with:

“From Africa to the treadmill in November… what else can we do to help? Whatever it is, we will get it done.”

And that’s exactly who he is.

Jonathan, the King of Challenges, champion of Swansea kids, and proof that one person’s grit can change a whole community.
