1,000 Hygiene Kits, One Purpose: Dignity for All

Cwtch Mawr brings businesses and charities together to support Swansea’s most vulnerable.

This May, Cwtch Mawr—a Faith in Families initiative—brought together businesses, volunteers, and charities to create and deliver 1,000 hygiene kits, with 500 of them going to our long-standing partner Matthew’s House. This act of community care is more than a donation—it’s a symbol of what we can achieve when we unite to restore dignity to those who need it most.

Delivered during Menstrual Hygiene Awareness Month, these kits support Homeless Period Swansea, one of Matthew’s House’s “Expressions”—targeted services that respond to specific community needs. They ensure that people experiencing homelessness, poverty, or hardship can access the essential hygiene items many of us take for granted..

This initiative wouldn’t have been possible without the collaborative effort from Amazon UK and the passionate team at Veeqo, an Amazon-owned ecommerce software company based in Swansea. Amazon generously donated the products, and Veeqo employees came together to pack every single kit—with care, compassion, and purpose.

Cwtch Mawr is proudly led and operated by Faith in Families, a charity transforming lives across Swansea Bay. Since 1999, we’ve grown to run three Community Cwtches in some of Swansea’s most deprived neighbourhoods—offering everything from parent and toddler groups to 1-2-1 child therapy, outreach work, and home support.

We also run Wales’ first Multibank, and through Cwtch Mawr, we provide support to over 115 other charities and community groups across the Swansea Bay area.
