Early Years & Play Celebration Awards 2023

Faith in Families was nominated for the Early Years and Play Celebration awards held at the Brangwyn Hall in February 2023. All three community cwtch’s were shortlisted, highlighting Faith in Families commitment to providing a safe and nurturing environment for young children to learn, play, and grow across Swansea.

The awards ceremony kicked off with the “Working with Parents” award, which was won by Teilo’s Community Cwtch. The team at Teilo’s Community Cwtch and Teilo’s Tots Day Care were immensely proud and grateful to everyone who nominated them for this award. Winning the “working with parents” award has boosted the teams moral further and reinstated how important their roles are, and reminded them of the positive impact their work has upon the community with parents and families.

Clase Community Cwtch won the “Community Support” award, the staff are delighted that their vital work within the community is being recognised and celebrated. Those attending the event were blown away by the whole event, and were thrilled to hear Councillor Hayley Gwilliam, Jane Whitmore, and David Howes praising and recognising the project for their true passion and enthusiasm for improving the lives and well-being of young people in Swansea.

Bonymaen Community Cwtch won the “Most Inclusive Project” award. Again, the team were immensely honoured to achieve this, and for the cwtch being recognised for the impactful work delivered in Bonymaen and surrounding communities. The staff at Bonymaen Community Cwtch work hard at ensuring that all those that attend any sessions run at the Cwtch, are made to feel welcome and included, in a safe, warm, and positive environments. It is important to ensure that those attending get a sense of belonging. These awards showcase the great work being done by each project and Community Cwtch, and the positive impact our organization is having on the community.

Faith in Families has been supporting families in the community for 23 years and offers a range of services, including playgroups, parent and toddler groups, resilience training, activity clubs alongside training and parenting support. The charity’s focus on early years and play is a testament to the importance of providing children with a strong foundation for their future. The Early Years and Play Celebration awards are a great opportunity to showcase the vital work being done by community organizations in Swansea and to recognize the efforts of those who work tirelessly to make a difference in the lives of others.
