At Faith in Families, we believe in the power of community, and there’s no better testament to that belief than our recent celebration of International Women’s Day 2024. Held on March 8th, this event was not just a commemoration but a declaration of the strength, resilience, and boundless potential of women in our community.
Thanks to the unwavering support of our newest initiative, Cwtch Mawr – Wales’ First Multibank, and the fabulous volunteers from Mortgage Advice Bureau Swansea, we were able to create a transformative experience for women from all walks of life. Cwtch Mawr flooded St. Teilos Community Cwtch with a wealth of quality clothing, shoes, and accessories, turning it into a vibrant hub of empowerment and possibility.
From the moment attendees stepped through the doors, they were greeted with an atmosphere of celebration and sisterhood. Our space was alive with activity, offering an array of services and workshops designed to nurture both body and soul. Women were pampered with nail art, makeup tutorials, and hair styling sessions, indulging in moments of self-care and rejuvenation.
Central to the event were the inspiring stories shared by women who have triumphed over adversity, emerging stronger and more resilient than ever. From overcoming personal challenges to achieving professional success, each story served as a testament to the spirit of womanhood.
CEO Cherrie Bija took to the stage to deliver a heartfelt keynote address, sharing her own journey and insights into the power of women within our Faith in Families communities. Her words resonated deeply with all in attendance, affirming the importance of unity, support, and collective action in creating a more equitable world.
As the event drew to a close, we couldn’t help but feel an overwhelming sense of gratitude. Gratitude for the opportunity to serve our communities, gratitude for the generosity of our donors, and gratitude for the incredible women whose strength and resilience inspire us every day.
