Faith in Families’ Cwtch Mawr Multibank Wins Big at the Shopiago Online Charity Awards!

This award celebrates the remarkable successes of charity partners who have leveraged the innovative Shopiago Trade-in platform to elevate their fundraising efforts and make a greater impact in their communities.
About Cwtch Mawr
Cwtch Mawr, meaning “Big Hug” in Welsh, is Wales’ first Multibank—a one-stop hub offering essential goods to families in need across Swansea. Launched in 2024, Cwtch Mawr brings together multiple types of support under one roof, serving as a clothes bank, bedding bank, baby bank, hygiene bank, and furniture bank all rolled into one. The goal is simple yet powerful: connecting businesses with surplus goods to local charities and organizations that know the individuals and families who need them most. By facilitating this exchange, Cwtch Mawr helps to reduce the effects of poverty while promoting a more sustainable, circular economy.
Since its inception, Cwtch Mawr has supported over 86,000 beneficiaries, including 27,000 families, and distributed more than 250,000 essential items to those in need. Through partnerships with community organizations, schools, homeless shelters, and elderly support services, as well as key collaborators like Swansea Council’s Social Services, Llamau, Swansea Asylum Seekers Support, and Swansea Young Families, Cwtch Mawr ensures that help reaches the people who need it most. While not a customer-facing site, Cwtch Mawr operates through a referral system managed by local partners, who collect and distribute the items to those in need.
By partnering with businesses and local charities, Cwtch Mawr provides critical support to vulnerable communities—offering not just items, but a lifeline, when families need it most.
This lifeline for families facing challenging times has truly benefited from the Shopiago Trade-in system, allowing us to maximise revenue from donated goods and streamline our operations.
