After 10 days, two extreme environments, and countless challenges, the High & Dry Challenge team has officially completed their mission – and what an achievement it has been! 💪🌍
On 21st February, six brave men – Brian Stokes, Jonathan Morgan, Ben Garvey, Daniel Morgan, Chris Weightman, and Gareth Morgan – set out on a challenge like no other. Their goal? To summit North Africa’s highest peak, Mount Toubkal (4,167m), and then trek 100km through the blistering heat of the Sahara Desert – all to raise vital funds for Faith in Families, supporting children and families in crisis.
And now, after pushing their limits physically, mentally, and emotionally, they have done it. The team has conquered the ultimate test of endurance and resilience! 🎉
From Ice to Fire: The High & Dry Challenge
The adventure began in the snow-covered Atlas Mountains, where the team faced a gruelling winter ascent of Mount Toubkal. Battling altitude sickness, freezing winds, and steep climbs, they persevered, reaching the summit in time for a breathtaking sunrise – a moment of triumph that made all the pain and exhaustion worth it.
But there was no time to celebrate for long. After descending the mountain, the team swapped snow boots for desert trekking gear and headed straight for the Sahara Desert. Over the next three days, they trekked 100km across endless dunes, rocky plains, and vast, unforgiving landscapes, facing scorching temperatures by day and freezing cold by night.
With blistered feet, aching muscles, and sheer determination, they crossed the final stretch of the desert, marking the completion of one of the toughest endurance challenges out there.
An Incredible Effort for an Incredible Cause
This High & Dry challenge wasn’t just about personal achievement – it was about making a real difference. Every step, every struggle, and every victory was dedicated to Faith in Families, a charity that provides lifeline support to children and families facing poverty, crisis, and trauma.
