Fine & Country Foundation Grant Helps Swansea Charity Reach More Families

We are absolutely delighted to share that Faith in Families Swansea has been awarded a £1,000 grant from the incredible team at the Fine & Country Foundation. This generous funding will help us continue doing what we do best—transforming lives across Swansea Bay through our Community Cwtches and our pioneering Multibank, Cwtch Mawr.

This funding couldn’t have come at a more important time. As the cost of living continues to affect more families and children in our communities, this grant will directly support those who need a helping hand—not just in term time, but also during the school holidays, when financial pressures can be even more acute.

💛 What Will the Fine & Country Foundation Grant Support?

The grant will enable us to run our much-loved Community Cwtch Days, a vital initiative that brings warmth, food, support, and fun to children and families during the school term—and especially during school holidays, when many families face increased food insecurity and isolation.

These days are about so much more than just playtime. They offer:

  • A safe, warm space for children to laugh, play, and be children.
  • Nutritious meals and snacks, ensuring no child goes hungry.
  • Access to our Multibank, where parents can pick up essentials like toothpaste, shampoo, deodorant, and even school uniforms and bedding.
  • A space for community connection, encouraging families to support one another, volunteer, and build the kind of mutual resilience that can change lives.

🫶 Building Dignity, Not Dependence

At Faith in Families, we believe that every family deserves dignity, and that supporting people in times of crisis doesn’t have to come with stigma. Our approach is based on community, care, and compassion—offering people real, practical help while making them feel seen and valued.

"We are incredibly grateful to The Fine & Country Foundation for this amazing support. The £1,000 grant will make a real difference, helping us run our Community Cwtch Days and supporting families when they need it most. Every child deserves a safe place to laugh, play, and belong—and every parent deserves the dignity of meeting their family’s basic needs. Together, we are creating stronger, kinder communities across Swansea Bay."

🏠 Cwtch Mawr – A ‘Big Hug’ for South Wales

Our flagship Multibank, Cwtch Mawr (which means Big Hug in Welsh), is the first of its kind in Wales. It’s a donation and redistribution hub that supports not just our own charity, but over 110 other organisations, charities, and care professionals across the Swansea Bay area.

Thanks to partners like Amazon, Cwtch Mawr provides surplus essentials like warm clothing, school kits, bedding, and hygiene products to those who need them most. And with this new funding, we can do even more.

We are especially excited to expand our reach and help more families across South Wales, using Cwtch Mawr as a model for community-driven, compassion-led support.

🧡 Let’s Go Further, Together

This grant is more than a donation—it’s a vote of confidence in the power of communities coming together. It reminds us that small grants can lead to massive impact when they’re put in the hands of passionate, dedicated teams working at the heart of their communities.

We would like to extend a huge thanks to the Fine & Country Foundation, and to the Fine & Country Swansea office for nominating us. Your support helps us ensure that no child is forgotten, and that no family has to face hardship alone.
