Meet Scarlet Le Roux, better known as The Little Tiler — and soon to be known as one of the incredible team taking on the Mardi Himal Base Camp Trek in Nepal this October. 🏔️

Scarlet isn’t just heading 4,500 metres up into the Annapurna region, she’s also throwing herself into a series of daring fundraising challenges to support Faith in Families Swansea.
Fundraising with a twist (and a few nerves!)
Scarlet kicked things off with a leap of faith — quite literally — jumping out of a plane at Swansea Airport for a 10,000ft skydive. 🪂 Adrenaline-fuelled and unforgettable, it set the tone for the months ahead.
Not content with the skies, Scarlet took to the water next. Her second fundraiser saw her kayaking 36 miles down the River Wye over three gruelling days. Think soggy socks, questionable clothing choices, runaway kayaks and aching muscles… but also a lot of laughter, determination, and sheer grit.
From “RiverWyeOrCry” to “HerefordOrHospital”, Scarlet shared every step of the journey with humour and honesty, proving she’s got the spirit it takes to tackle the Himalayas.
Why Scarlet's Doing It
For Scarlet, this challenge is about more than personal adventure — it’s about helping families in Swansea who are struggling the most. Every donation fuels the vital work of Faith in Families, from providing essentials at Cwtch Mawr Multibank to creating safe spaces for children to laugh, play and heal.
What’s Next For Scarlet?
With Nepal just around the corner, Scarlet is still on a mission to raise as much as possible. Her fundraising page is open, and she’s inviting everyone to chip in — whether it’s the cost of a pint, a paddle, or a blister plaster!
“I’ve tiled floors, jumped out of planes, paddled rivers… and now I’m climbing a mountain! Every challenge is worth it if it helps children and families in Swansea build brighter futures.”
