Mandie Bennett is no stranger to supporting children and families in Swansea. As the owner of Schoolhouse Daycare and Teilo’s Tots Day Nursery in Portmead, she works every day to give local children the very best start in life. Now, Mandie is taking on an even bigger challenge — trekking 4,500m to Mardi Himal Base Camp in Nepal this October.
"I like my comfy bed and a full eight hours of sleep — I can be a bit grumpy without them! But I know it will be worth it, and I feel privileged to work as part of this amazing team to raise funds for those in our community who need support the most."
Since April, Schoolhouse Daycare has been working with Faith in Families, delivering outstanding childcare at Teilo’s Tots.
Through this partnership, Mandie has seen first-hand the impact that support can have on children growing up in challenging circumstances.
2025 has been a year of stepping up, both personally and professionally, to raise awareness and vital funds for children and families in Swansea. The trek is the next step in that journey — and every mile Mandie takes will help ensure local children have brighter futures.
