Veeqo teams in Swansea pack early years kits to support families ahead of Cwtch events

Teams at Veeqo, an Amazon company based in Swansea, came together last week to pack hundreds of early years kits in Swansea, helping local families ahead of Faith in Families’ Early Childhood Cwtch events taking place across the city next week.

The volunteering day brought together colleagues who wanted to give something practical and meaningful back to their community. Because the early years are such a crucial stage of development, the focus was on creating kits that support comfort, connection and learning at home, especially for families facing pressure.

By working in partnership with Faith in Families, Amazon, and The Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood, Veeqo’s Swansea-based team helped turn this idea into action.

Early years kits Swansea: Veeqo volunteers step up

In a fast-paced and hands-on volunteering session, 40 Veeqo volunteers packed 500 early years Cwtch Kits, all destined for families across Swansea. The atmosphere was busy but positive, with teams working together to prepare each box with care.

Every kit includes:

  • Two children’s books

  • A cosy, family-sized blanket

  • A sensory light

Each item was chosen to support children aged 0–4, helping to encourage bonding, early learning and sensory development. All kits were packed into Amazon boxes and prepared ready for distribution through trusted local routes.

This kind of practical support matters. It helps reduce pressure at home and ensures families have access to age-appropriate resources during a key developmental window.

A strong Swansea partnership supporting early childhood

Veeqo, headquartered in Swansea, continues to show its commitment to the local community by supporting initiatives that make a tangible difference. Rather than a one-off activity, this volunteering day reflects an ongoing approach to community support rooted in place and partnership.

The work also aligns closely with the mission of The Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood, which focuses on raising awareness of the importance of the first five years of life. By working together, partners are helping ensure families can access the right support, at the right time.

Additional support on the day came from James Blood at The Give Box, further highlighting how collaboration across organisations strengthens outcomes for families.

What this meant for the Veeqo team

Aisling Miller, Marketing Lead at Veeqo (an Amazon company), said:

“Veeqo is proud to be based in Swansea, and supporting our local community is something our team really cares about. Seeing so many colleagues come together to pack these early years kits was genuinely uplifting. Knowing that each box will support a child and family at such an important stage of life made the day incredibly meaningful for everyone involved.”

For many volunteers, it was a chance to see first-hand how small, practical actions can add up to real impact across the city.

How the early years kits will reach families

The early years kits in Swansea will be distributed directly to families through Faith in Families’ Early Childhood Cwtch events, as well as via the charity’s Cwtch Mawr Multibank, Wales’s first Multibank.

This approach ensures kits reach families who need them most, in ways that feel accessible, dignified and supportive. By connecting distribution to trusted community spaces, families can receive help without stigma and alongside wider early years support.

Siany Martin, Fundraising Manager at Faith in Families, said:

“The support from Veeqo has been incredible. This wasn’t just about packing boxes, it was about local people stepping up for local families. These kits will be handed directly to parents through our Early Childhood Cwtch events, helping to reduce pressure at home and support children’s development. Partnerships like this allow us to reach families early, in their own communities, and that makes a real difference.”

Inside the Cwtch Up events

The packed kits will be handed out at free Early Childhood Cwtch events taking place next week in Bonymaen, Clase and Portmead.

The Cwtch Up events are designed to be relaxed and welcoming. Alongside collecting their kits, families can enjoy play, singing and storytelling, explore sensory activities, and pick up simple early years tips. Because connection matters, everything takes place in a friendly, supportive environment, with a cuppa and healthy refreshments included.

A quieter ALN session is also available for children who benefit from a calmer space, ensuring the events are accessible to as many families as possible.
