Cwtch Up Appeal
Winter Campaign 2024/25 | Providing Warmth, Food, and Safe Spaces for Families This Winter
Support Vulnerable Families This Winter
Faith in Families has launched the Cwtch Up Appeal to help vulnerable families and children in the Swansea Bay area. Your support will ensure the distribution of new winter coats and sustain our community cwtches and multibank through the cold months.
With rising living costs, many families are forced to choose between essentials like warmth and food. Our Cwtch Up Appeal seeks to raise funds to keep these vital services running and to provide new winter coats for those in need—offering warmth, care, and comfort, just like a Welsh cwtch (hug).
Support the Cwtch Up Appeal and Make a Real Difference

Faith in Families
Vulnerable Inmate Response (ViR) parcels, created by V-Aid and inmates at HMP Swansea, in partnership with Faith In Families. These emergency parcels offer three days' worth of food, basic necessities, and hygiene products, along with information on further support services for those leaving prison without accommodation, finances, or family support. This crucial assistance helps bridge the gap in the first few days after release, until more help can be secured. Providing immediate aid when it's needed most, and connecting people to long-term support, is the backbone of all our projects.

The gent who picked up his parcel from us today was visibly moved.
He said the clothes gave him back some self respect and the sleeping bag will probably save him this winter if his sofa surfing options run out.

The gesture didn’t just uplift the patients. Hospital staff, often stretched thin, were deeply moved by your kindness. Nurses shared how such simple comforts improved patients’ morale, helping them feel more dignified and cared for. The atmosphere in the ward shifted, with patients trying on their new gifts. The donation reminded everyone that sometimes the smallest acts of kindness can bring the most comfort. For the patients and the nurses, it wasn’t just about the gifts – it was a reminder that people cared about their wellbeing.

When I opened that box, I saw my children’s faces light up. The joy in their eyes as they tried on their new clothes was a moment I will carry in my heart forever. My youngest, Clara, skipped around the room in her new shoes, declaring that she was a princess. For the first time in months, I felt a glimmer of hope. Faith In Family didn’t just provide us with material goods; they gave us dignity and a sense of community. They showed me that there are people who care, who are willing to help those in need. This support has lifted a heavy burden off my shoulders, allowing me to focus on finding a new job and rebuilding our lives. I want to thank everyone at Faith In Family for their generosity.
