Christmas magic at Swansea Building Society Arena isn’t something you can bottle, but on one unforgettable evening, it was everywhere. Thanks to the incredible generosity of the Swansea Building Society Arena team and a whole network of partners, 100 of our parents and children stepped into a world that felt miles away from the daily pressures of poverty and crisis.
🎬 Christmas Magic at Swansea Building Society Arena: A Night Our Families Will Never Forget
The Arena team worked with Simply Elegant to transform their FSG Lounge into a festive wonderland, fit with candy canes, stockings of gifts donated by their whole team, and even managed to organise a visit from the main man himself – Santa Claus! From the moment our families walked inside, everything changed. Warmth. Welcome. Care. And a sense of being somewhere truly special. For many, it was their first time ever in a theatre. Watching their children take in The Muppets Christmas Carol on a huge screen with festive touches all around them was a moment they never thought possible, and the Swansea Building Society Arena team were delighted to open up their doors for everyone to experience the magic of live entertainment this Christmas.

And this evening wasn’t simply entertainment; it was connection. Families from three of our communities came together. Adults who often struggle with confidence found themselves chatting, laughing and forming new friendships. That sense of belonging carried them through the night. Arena staff were on hand in their best festive wear serving dinners, and getting in the merry spirit of Christmas!
A Community Effort: The Partners Who Made the Night Possible
So many people worked together to create the magic. Their support made sure every family felt welcomed, supported and celebrated.
A whole host of Swansea Building Society Arena’s team members were on hand to make the evening one to remember, and had an absolute whale of a time in doing so! The VIP Lounge was donated to host guests and add a little sparkle to the evening, and Arena staff donated time and resources too:
- The Events Team – handled all organisation and planning of the event and fundraised prizes for the raffle so every family left with a prize.
- The Technical team – transformed the room and set up sound, music and projection of a festive fireplace!
- The Kitchen team planned, prepared, cooked and served a full 3 Course Meal
- The Full Arena Staff donated time to welcome families, serve meals and drinks, decorate and handle all the small details so the families didn’t need to worry about a thing!
All of the Arena’s staff members, partners and colleagues came together to make the whole evening extra festive and special.

Swansea Building Society Arena: Long-Term Support That’s Changing Lives
This incredible night is part of an ongoing partnership that has opened doors for hundreds of people supported by Faith in Families.

Earlier this year, Swansea Building Society Arena gifted tickets to different shows, including the unforgettable Music of the Movies. Families stepped into worlds of hobbits, wizards, pirates and galaxies far away — many for the first time in their lives.
We heard things like:
“I want to be the person who makes that sound one day.”
and
“For an afternoon, we forgot all our worries.”
These moments plant seeds. Children see possibilities. Adults feel valued. Experiences like these shift confidence, spark ambition and remind families that they belong in every space in their city.
Why Nights Like This Matter
When families carry the weight of cost-of-living pressures, worry takes up a lot of room. So, evenings like this give more than joy; they give breathing space. Space to laugh, chat and experience something together.

Children left with gifts and Santa sacks. Parents left knowing that people in their city care deeply about them and their children. Swansea Building Society Arena created somewhere they could soak up pure Christmas magic without worry.
And that feeling lasts.
Voices From the Evening

Tasha shared how the warmth and care from the Arena team made the whole evening feel uplifting and joyful.
Siany added that the experience “opened a world many families have never had access to before”.
"It was a real joy to welcome Faith in Families and 100 of their parents and children to the Swansea Building Society Arena for The Muppets Christmas Carol. Watching the room light up with laughter and that unmistakable festive magic was wonderful, as the film reminds us, "it's the season of the heart, a special time of caring", so a huge thank you goes out to all the Arena staff and our partners for their support in ensuring our community knows our doors are open to them, all year round."
Michaela Sargent | Conference & Events Manager Swansea Arena

Michaela and the whole Swansea Building Society Arena team expressed how much joy it brought them to welcome our families, describing the event as a privilege to be part of.
And truly, everyone involved played a part in shaping something special.
