Although we are now well into January, the impact of our Jerusalem Trust donation is one we wanted to properly reflect on and share. This £2,000 donation was made to support our Compassionate Christmas campaign and directly benefited children and families over the Christmas period helping parents create moments of joy, dignity and relief at a time that can otherwise feel overwhelming.
Families across Swansea felt it during the festive period, and its impact has continued to be felt as they moved into the new year.

How the Jerusalem Trust Donation Supported Families at Christmas
The Jerusalem Trust donation enabled Faith in Families to provide £50 gift vouchers to families referred through our Community Cwtches and partner organisations. These vouchers gave parents the choice to buy presents their children would truly enjoy, rather than receiving pre-selected gifts.
That choice is central to our approach. It allows parents to take an active role in their child’s Christmas, protecting dignity and helping families experience the joy that every child deserves.
For many families, this support meant Christmas morning looked very different. It meant fewer worries, less stress and the reassurance that they hadn’t been forgotten.
Why This Support Still Matters in January
Although the donation was specifically for Christmas, its importance doesn’t stop when the decorations come down. Families often carry the financial and emotional strain of the festive period into January, especially when budgets are stretched and winter costs remain high.
Faith in Families supports over 1,000 children every week across Swansea Bay. Many families we work with continue to need reassurance and practical help after Christmas. Knowing that parents were supported during the festive period helps reduce pressure later, preventing crises from escalating.
The Jerusalem Trust donation played a vital role in that wider picture of stability and care.
A Collective Effort Across Swansea
The Jerusalem Trust’s generosity was part of a much wider community response through our Compassionate Christmas campaign. Local businesses, churches, organisations and individuals stepped up to help families across the city.
Support came from:
Plexus Fire and Security, Swansea City Supporters Trust, Tonner Johns Ratti Solicitors, Gower College Swansea, Cariad Mortgage Solutions, V-Aid, Coast Financial Solutions, P.E.S Fire & Security Systems Ltd, The Business Coaching, Mentoring & Training Centre, Guardian Property Services (GPSUK Ltd), Evolved HR Limited, Spectrum Glass Solutions Ltd, the staff at Veeqo, BNI Marina Swansea members, St Gabriel’s Church in Brynmill, St Mary’s Church, Pennard, and many more.
Together, these contributions helped us raise around £9,000, supporting families across Swansea during Christmas.

Looking Back and Moving Forward
As we reflect on Christmas and look ahead into the new year, we want to take the time to recognise the organisations that made this support possible. The Jerusalem Trust donation ensured families experienced kindness, dignity and choice at one of the most important times of the year.
While this chapter of the campaign has closed, the need for compassion and community support continues every day.
