Because of you, families felt hope this Christmas
Because of you, Compassionate Christmas Swansea became a moment of relief, dignity and hope for families who needed it most. At a time when many parents were facing impossible choices, your support helped lift pressure, ease stress, and remind families across Swansea that they were not alone.
This year’s Compassionate Christmas appeal showed the power of community. Through pledges, donations, and shared belief in fairness and compassion, you helped ensure children could experience warmth, care and joy and parents could provide for them with dignity.

Why Compassionate Christmas is so needed
Christmas can be an incredibly hard time for families living in poverty. While others plan celebrations, some parents are quietly worrying about heating, food, and whether they can give their children anything at all.
This year, we heard from families whose income had suddenly disappeared due to job losses, illness, or changes in circumstances. Others were already stretched to breaking point. For many, Christmas felt overwhelming.
That’s why Compassionate Christmas Swansea exists, not to hand out one-size-fits-all gifts, but to give families choice and dignity at a time when both can feel out of reach.

What Compassionate Christmas is all about
Through Compassionate Christmas, Faith in Families provides £50+ vouchers per child, allowing parents to choose what their children truly need. Sometimes that’s a toy. Often it’s warm clothes, pyjamas, school shoes, or something practical that makes everyday life a little easier.
Because parents know their children best.
By working through our Community Cwtches and the Cwtch Mawr Multibank, we ensure this support reaches families who are already known to us and who need it most. We support over 1,000 children every week, so we understand the pressures families are under, especially at Christmas.
The difference your support makes
The impact of Compassionate Christmas is best understood through the words of families themselves:
“You have been a godsend this year and helped me out so much when I have been struggling.”
“Money has been so short since my partner lost his job. You have taken a load of stress from us and we are so very grateful.”
“You guys have made me cry!!! You have given so much & you’ve helped so much with my child. We are so very grateful!”
These words are powerful because they show what your generosity really provides — not just vouchers, but relief, reassurance and hope.

A message from Faith in Families
Siany Martin, Fundraising Manager at Faith in Families, said:
“Compassionate Christmas is about so much more than financial support. It’s about giving parents dignity, easing stress, and reminding families that they’re not alone. Every donation brings hope and that hope can make all the difference.”
That hope is what carries families forward, not just through Christmas, but into the year ahead.
Looking ahead
While this appeal focuses on Christmas, the need doesn’t end there. Families continue to face challenges all year round, and Faith in Families will continue to be there through our Cwtches, outreach work, and Cwtch Mawr Multibank.
